What is nuno felting?

Merino wool is laid over woven silk and worked by hand with water and friction until the wool fibres migrate through the weave and the two become one cloth. There is no stitching and no seam. The finished piece drapes like silk and holds heat like wool.

Are the pieces handmade?

Yes, entirely. No machine sewing is involved at any stage. Small variations in colour, texture, pattern placement and finish are part of how the cloth is made, not flaws in it.

Are ready-to-ship pieces one of a kind?

Yes. When a colour shows one item available, the photographed piece is the piece offered for sale. Fibre migration cannot be repeated exactly, so the same colourway never comes out the same way twice.

Is there a discount for buying more than one scarf?

Yes. On the Nuno Felted Scarf, two take 10% off and three or more take 20% off, applied automatically in the cart. The scarves do not have to be the same colour, so a set of three in three colours qualifies.

How do I choose the right size?

Most pieces are cut generously and sit well on a wide range of bodies. Measurements are listed on each product page. If a measurement you need is missing or you are unsure about fit, write to us before ordering.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes. Custom scarves, vests, jackets and coats are made to your colour and measurements. Production takes about one month. Custom pricing is shown on the product page for each style. We confirm colour, measurements, price and timing in writing before any work begins.

What is the return policy?

All sales are final. Because every piece is one of a kind and made entirely by hand, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. This is why we would rather answer your questions before you order than after.

How do I care for the piece?

Hand wash in cool water with a wool-safe detergent. Do not rub, wring or twist. Press the water out, roll the piece in a towel, then dry it flat and reshape it while damp. Never tumble dry. Steam rather than iron. Full guidance is on the Size and Care page.
